Help – Company Tickers

For ease of internal navigation and linking purposes we use company tickers rather than company names.

What follows is a selection of dividend paying companies with their London stock ticker symbols, together with links to their dedicated pages at Dividend Income News and Dividend Income Profile, if any, as well as to Dividend Income Portfolio, if an investee company, and finally any outstanding limit orders based on the then historical undervalued level of the particular company’s share price.

What are company tickers?

Listed companies are identified by so-called stock ticker symbols, which offer insight into where a company is listed and traded, e.g AZN, AZN.L, LSE.AZN and LON:AZN all represent the same shares in London-listed AstraZeneca Plc.

There are many stock exchanges throughout the world, and each exchange has different listing requirements associated with it.

Recent history of London listed company tickers

Prior to 1996, London stock ticker symbols were known as EPICs, named after the London Stock Exchange’s Exchange Price Information Computer e.g. ticker symbol “MKS” stands for Marks and Spencer. In 1996 EPICs were renamed into TIDM, though they are still widely referred to as EPICs.

Companies can also be identified using their Stock Exchange Daily Official List (SEDOL) number, e.g. BAE Systems’ Sedol number is 0263494
