Charlie Munger – income first, capital gains later

March 13, 2013

Once in a while I come across an investment book that I find both instructional as well as inspirational in particular when its focus is on “income first, capital gains” later. Very much our mantra at Dividend Income

As Warren Buffett’s partner at Berkshire Hathaway, I have always wondered whether Charlie Munger’s investment style is completely aligned with those of Warren Buffett.

I have come across this excellent review on Munger’s book written by Tim McAleenan, fellow author at, that you can access Here.

Munger’s lesson: “income first, capital gains later” is something which we at Dividend Income’s very much endorse based on our own focus of investing only in high quality dividend paying companies when they are historically undervalued in order to secure passive income streams and re-invest those in similar undervalued companies.

If you are looking for a good read that is both instructive on how to make money from dividend income investing as well as incredibly inspirational, I highly recommend that you consider buying Janet Lowe’s Damn Right!: Behind the Scenes with Berkshire Hathaway Billionaire Charlie Munger.
